FANS SEEK TO BUY STADIUM

A GROUP of Swindon Town fans are attempting to buy the club’s County Ground from the council.
Trust STFC has offered Swindon Borough £1.1m, and director of Trust STFC James Phipps says the ground needs some urgent upgrades, having been the same for decades.
“We feel it needs improving and has a reluctant owner in some ways in the council, which is cash-strapped through austerity measures,” said Phipps.
