Craig Short was pleased to hand the reins over to new Oxford boss Matt Bloomfield after guiding the U’s to a penalty shoot-out win over MK Dons.
The interim manager saw Matt Ingram save Connor Lemonheigh-Evans’ kick after Jonathan Leko missed the target for MK, to win the tie for the U’s, who reached round four for the first time since 2020.
