Arsenal Looking for Squad Boost Ahead of 2025

UK Casinos

For the Gunners fans with Arsenal tickets, the Premier League dream is still on, as Arsenal looks like it still has a comprehensive side to make it to the end.

While Arne Slot’s Liverpool and Pep’s City are also clear contenders for the title, Mikel Arteta thinks his side can be third-time lucky.

A season back, fans tickets from the secondary marketplace were sent into disappointment when their team lost the race in the final few weeks.

But this time, the Gunners look like they have a complete squad to make it to the end.

To be extremely sure, Mikel Arteta is again on the hunt for transfers in the January window.

Antonie Semenya on the Watch List

Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo has confessed his love for Arsenal amid reports of interest in his services from the Gunners.

Semenyo, 24, has enjoyed a hot start to the season, racking up three goals and one assist for a Bournemouth side that came out on top when they faced Arsenal on Saturday. There’s some chatter with the fans about options from the secondary marketplace on Semenyo, and it might be good enough to add him to a potential transfer list.

Arsenal are among the sides linked with a move for Semenyo, whose form has also reportedly caught the eye of Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United. However, the Gunners may have an advantage after Semenyo admitted his soft spot for Arsenal.

“I am an Arsenal fan,” the Bournemouth forward told The Athletic. “I don’t conflict the two with my job. It is great to play against Arsenal, a team I have watched all my life, and I also want to play for the top clubs. In order for that to happen, I need to prove it.”

Asked whether joining a club like Arsenal is his overall dream, Semenyo continued: “Yeah, any team that plays Champions League, Europa [League]…that’s the aim.

Semenyo, a full Ghana international, signed a new contract at Bournemouth this summer to stay with the Cherries until 2029.

Arsenal Want Serie A Striker

Listening to the fans with Arsenal tickets and everyone else, it looks like the club is taking added measures to ensure they have good squad depth ahead of the second half of the season.

And to the surprise of everyone with tickets from the secondary marketplace, the team wants to spend big on a striker.

According to reports, Arsenal are considering a move for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic in the winter transfer window.

The Gunners first tried to sign Serbian international Vlahovic in January 2022 when he was at Fiorentina, but Juventus beat them to his signature.

At that time, Arsenal was fighting for a top-four finish in the Premier League, and the 24-year-old was not interested, understandably favoring a domestic switch to the Old Lady.

Mikel Arteta’s side are now title contenders and might have won the league in 2022/23 and/or 2023/24 had they completed the signing of Vlahovic.

After opting against signing a new striker in the 2022 winter window, Arsenal finished fifth in the Premier League and signed Gabriel Jesus the following summer.

Almost everyone with Arsenal tickets will agree that the Jesus experiment lasted a month, with the Brazilian injured or coming up short of expectations.

Jesus has since lost his place to Kai Havertz, who has proven an excellent option for Arteta.

Many fans do not consider Havertz Arsenal’s long-term No. 9 option, and some are still desperate for the Spanish manager to spend big on a new lead.

Vlahovic is an interesting option for Arsenal and someone Arteta rates, or at least someone used to rate highly.

The former Fiorentina star has a respectable seven goals in 11 matches for Juventus this season, including two in the Champions League.

According to a report from CaughtOffside, Arsenal are still interested in signing Vlahovic and could make an offer when the transfer window re-opens in January.

While Vlahovic is a potential target, RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko is claimed to be Arteta’s top choice, with the club ‘prepared to wait until next summer’.

There has yet to be progress on a new deal, and the Italian giants are also reportedly keen on Sesko, leaving them relaxed about the future of their current No. 9.

Should Juve make a move for Sesko, there could be a ‘domino effect’ involving Vlahovic to Arsenal.

A transfer fee of € 60 million (£51m) is mentioned, which would help Juve fund Sesko’s signing at the end of the season.

Isak Situation

Alexander Isak will have to be one of the most followed strikers by those with Arsenal tickets from the secondary marketplace, other than ones from their team.

Considered one of the best strikers in the Premier League, Arsenal has been showing open interest in signing the player from Newcastle.

However, Newcastle United has been protective of their star forward, keen to keep him at St. James’ Park and fend off interest from top clubs like the Gunners.

Given Arsenal’s ambitions to compete for top honors, adding a proven goal-scorer like Isak could be crucial in strengthening their squad.

Previously, reports suggested that Newcastle was negotiating with Isak over a contract extension.

This would have effectively tied him down to a longer deal, potentially making any future transfer move more complicated for Arsenal. Securing a new contract was to fend off interest from other clubs and ensure Isak’s long-term commitment to the Magpies.

However, in a recent twist that could boost Arsenal, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe revealed that talks over a contract extension are not ongoing.

Speaking to The Daily Mail, Howe explained that financial constraints linked to the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Regulations (PSR) have limited Newcastle’s ability to offer new deals at the moment. “It’s a slightly more complex situation,” Howe noted.

“With Alex, he’s got a long contract anyway, and we have to be really careful regarding our spending due to PSR. It’s not a clear-cut situation”. This financial caution is required to avoid future restrictions on their transfer activities due to player wage commitments.

For Arsenal, acquiring a player of Isak’s quality would provide depth to their forward line and allow Mikel Arteta to rotate his attacking options more effectively. As the club looks to maintain a competitive edge in domestic and European competitions, securing a dynamic striker like Isak would be a strategic move to sustain its growth trajectory.

Arsenal tickets for the remainder of the season are now available in the secondary marketplace.
