Who are the Copa America favorites for the 2024 edition?

Along with Euro 2024, we also have this year’s edition of Copa America. Last edition was won by Argentina, but a lot of people think about the changes that took place in the rosters and who might be a favorite now. As always, choosing favorites is never easy, but there are a few teams that do stand out of the crowd for us. Here’s what you should know when it comes to the 2024 favorites for Copa America.

Argentina

Yes, if you’re betting on Copa America, you already must be thinking that Argentina has the better roster and highest chances of winning. It’s safe to say that Argentina has always been a constant when it comes to deliver excellent results and they are very good too, well above many of the other contenders. So if you’re thinking that Argentina might have the highest winning chances, you are not wrong. That being said, there are other teams that could become a serious threat for them.

Brazil

Brazil is another favorite, mainly thanks to its legacy and the great players they had over the years. However, this time around they have a much younger team, which could be both a pro and a con. Yes, while a lot of people expect Argentina to win, there’s no denying that Brazil could be one of those teams that tries to prove themselves. Newcomers in general have the motivation they need, and in this case they might very well become a major threat, only time can tell.

Uruguay

Uruguay did very well when it came to the latest major matches that they had. And in general, the country’s football team comes with a very good history and lots of focus, so we do expect them to become quite the threat during this Copa America. It’s hard to say if they will end up winning or not, but they are bound to be a very good team and certainly one of the top contenders at this time.

Colombia

Don’t disregard Colombia either, as they have a very good team. And while their last win was in 2001, there’s no denying that the team has changed quite a lot since then. We think this particular time is when they might actually get close to winning, considering the roster updates that they managed to implement recently.

Mexico

Even if Mexico isn’t always the best team, they have been on an upward trajectory over the past few years. It’s definitely possible for them to pull a surprise on us, and we do expect them to bring in their A game for the Copa America this year. Not everyone sees them as a major threat, but these are the teams that can bring in the best surprises.

USA

Yes, they are the host, but they are also a team that has invested a lot in roster upgrades and they can be rather challenging to face right now. So while there are plenty of people not seeing them as favorites, we do think that the USA might be able to bring in some great surprises.

One thing is certain, Copa America is going to be quite an interesting event this year. Even if a lot of people see Argentina as the main favorite, there’s no denying that we might see a few surprises along the way too. So it’s definitely a cool event that will most likely bring in some interesting results. Only time can tell, but rest assured that a lot of other teams will do their best to try and stop Argentina from retaining!
