The 2003/2004 season was the most successful period for Arsenal

Many Arsenal fans cannot forget the great season of 2003/2004. The team won the English championship without losing once during the whole competition! It is easy to follow the current achievements of the “Gunners” in different tournaments on the verified livescore portal. Since that championship season, Arsenal’s successes are not the most outstanding, but the team is always trying to perform as good as possible.

It did not work too well in other competitions. The “Gunners” were considered favorites in the Champions League, but reached only the quarterfinals. There were also failures in the English Cup tournaments. Even the semi-finals cannot be considered a successful result. Nor was it possible to win the Super Cup, since Manchester United were luckier in the penalty shootout. Despite only one trophy, this period is considered one of the best in the history of Arsenal: the team scored 73 goals in a season and conceded 26. They had the best attack and defense in the 2003/2004 season among all the clubs of the English football championship.

Everything was possible thanks to the unity of the team. The head coach Arsène Wenger also mentioned the great atmosphere in the squad. No one had conflicts, there were enough young and promising players, but also leaders. Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira, Martin Keown, all experienced players who made a significant contribution to the championship. True, others also gave their best, and this squad is still remembered decades later. Today, the results of Arsenal games can be viewed on the livescore portal. Here the information is updated every second, and the statistics of matches already played are available.

The best Arsenal players in the 2003/2004 season

Immediately after winning the English championship, at the championship parade Arsène Wenger said that rarely in history have there been such close-knit and friendly teams. It is in fact true, because Arsenal of the 2003/2004 season was really like a family. Today’s Premier League results and the results of the “Gunners” matches can be viewed on the verified livescore website. However, it’s still necessary to highlight the following players from Arsenal’s championship season:

  • Thierry Henry, he became the top scorer of the championship (30 goals) and of the team for the season (39);
  • Dennis Bergkamp and Robert Pirès both provided 9 assists and were constantly active in attack;
  • Patrick Vieira wasn’t at the top of his condition, but his leadership qualities were becoming more prominent.

Moreover, Freddy Ljungberg, Sol Campbell, Kolo Touré and Jens Lehmann played at the highest level. Today, the “Gunners” have also many excellent players, so the team shows good Premier League results. The last time they managed to win the championship was back in the 2003/2004 season, after which the team rarely got to the top 3 of the English championship, being satisfied only with the Cups and the Super Cups.
