When Gerhard Struber was asked about reports linking Ross McCrorie with a move to Udinese in August, his response was emphatic.
“Ross? Never would I let him go,” said the Bristol City boss. “Never, never, never. He is super important to us.”
How prescient those words have proved. Ahead of the weekend, the Robins’ all-action wing-back had already scored once and notched three assists.
That was more goal contributions and more assists than any other defender in the Championship with the exception of Hull’s Ryan Giles.
