First game you saw live?
My grandad took me to Maine Road to watch my dad John, who played for Man City. It was in 1962 against West Ham, and Bert Trautmann got sent off for booting the ball at the referee’s backside!
He was a real gentleman, Bert, a lovely guy. My dad used to take me down to training sometimes and Bert would let me take shots at him. He’d let them go through his legs, then turn and dive at the last minute.
