The Terriers had been reduced to ten men in the first period before Ledson provided his moment of inspiration in the opening stages of the second half.
The ball broke to him just inside his own half and he hit a stunning strike that beat the despairing effort of Hatters keeper Josh Keeley and flew into the net for the winner.
