Bolton defender Zac Ashworth will never forget his first league goal – and January’s Sky Bet League One Goal of the Month trophy is the perfect memento.
The 21-year-old, on loan from West Brom, set the Trotters on their way to a 4-1 win at Carlisle when he lobbed Josh Sheehan’s superbly flighted long pass over keeper Harry Lewis on the volley.
“I’m delighted my goal has been chosen as the best of the month,” he said. “I’d like to thank all the fans who voted for me to help me win the award.
