IT IS testament to how horrifically Dai Yongge has run Reading that supporters of the Royals would welcome Mike Ashley in a heartbeat.
The Sports Direct tycoon wouldn’t be there for glory. He wouldn’t be there for fun. He’d there for the bottom line.
A depressing decade of austerity, cost-cutting and managed decline at Newcastle United is ample proof of his modus operandi.
