EFL may need to consider call-ups revamp

Not so long ago, the prospect of Port Vale v Burton (League One) or Barrow v Morecambe (League Two) falling victim to international call-ups would have seemed absurd.
Yet that’s exactly what happened this weekend. Both were postponed, along with a host of other League One games. On the one hand, this is clearly a positive for the EFL.

The increased wealth and scouting power of England’s top two divisions has squeezed homegrown talent ever lower in search of first-team football.
