JANUARY is a notoriously slow burner when it comes to transfers, often leaving Sky presenters forlornly hyping up news of a free agent joining Scunthorpe.
Yet even by those standards, the current window is grinding along.
At the time of writing, just eight players had signed for Championship clubs.
At a reported £7m, Daryl Dike’s move from Orlando to West Brom is by far the biggest expenditure; in fact, the only other team to spend any money at all are Bournemouth, who captured Fleetwood defender James Hill for a modest £1m.
