Wigan have it all to do if they’re to avoid an immediate return to League One, but I’m not writing them off yet.
Results may not show it, but Shaun Maloney has had a big impact since replacing Kolo Toure in January.
They’re a much better side. They’re a lot harder to beat. They might not be winning games, but they’ve had a lot of draws and there’s a much better balance to the team than they showed under Toure.
Slowly but surely they’re picking up points and I think Shaun will be quietly confident they can go on a little run of wins to at least make a fight of staying up.
