I don't know about you but I much prefer the new English Football League Highlights programme on ITV.
Yes, the previous two-hour marathon was comprehensive, but, for me, there was too much chat – and not enough action.

With the host at a ground – Jules Breach was at Plymouth on opening day and Hugh Woozencroft at Birmingham last Saturday – it works well, rather than having the stilted studio chat with a couple of pundits.

Trimming back the time by half an hour isn’t a problem, because the emphasis is on showing the highlights. That’s what you want to see...
