I WAS sad to see a former manager of mine lose his job this week with Nigel Adkins being sacked by Charlton Athletic.
The 3-2 defeat at home to Accrington Stanley on Tuesday was the final act in Adkins’ seven-month tenure which started with so much promise.
His record at League One level is outstanding and I was part of the Southampton side that he took over in League One and guided to the Premier League.
