As he reflects on the coaching odyssey that led him from Minsk in Belarus to the Russian city of Orenburg, Peter Leven chuckles ruefully.
“You know, I’ve been very successful,” says the Glaswegian, who played for Kilmarnock, Chesterfield, MK Dons and Oxford before succumbing to a knee injury at 32.
“But I was very successful in the two countries that probably everyone in the world hates right now. How’s your luck, eh?”
