Back then, the 39-year-old was a young full-back in a rich vein of form for Chris Coleman’s Coventry City.
Marauding runs, spectacular free-kicks, bone-crunching tackles - Fox had the lot, and was eventually voted into the 2008-09 Championship team of the year.
Inevitably, interest followed. Several Premier League sides made inquiries, including Newcastle United, but it was Celtic and West Bromwich Albion who lodged concrete offers.
