Ruben Palazuelos Has The Heart To Boost Yeovil

YEOVIL are set to sign former Hearts midfielder Ruben Palazuelos – if the Spaniard receives international clearance.

YEOVIL are set to sign former Hearts midfielder Ruben Palazuelos – if the Spaniard receives international clearance.

Palazuelos, 30, has spent the last fortnight training with the Glovers and boss Gary Johnson is hoping he can help the Championship strugglers get amongst the goals.

Yeovil – bottom of the table and six points from safety – have scored just 26 goals in 29 games, the second-lowest in the division after Charlton.

“He’s a midfielder that can pick out a pass, a bit of a controller in the middle,” said Johnson.

“I feel we need that one who’s going to feed the forwards with the right ball at the right time. We have got a lot of endeavour but not that spotter and I’m hoping he’ll do that.”

Palazuelos – released by Hearts in 2011 and most recently playing with FC Honka in Finland – is likely to receive clearance this week.
