Cheltenham Town have began preparations for next season by bringing in midfielder Ben Tozer form League Two rivals Newport County.
The 28-year-old, who was out of contract with the Welsh side this summer, made 39 appearances for Newport last season to help them to an 11th place finish in the League Two table.
However, Tozer has elected to end his two year spell with County to join Gary Johnson’s Cheltenham side.
In an interview on Cheltenham’s official club website, Johnson said, “We’re delighted to have signed Ben. He is a fantastic athlete and I have worked with him previously so know exactly the kind of character he will bring to the squad.
“He’s an experienced player and will be a big influence in our quest next season to push up the table and have a really successful campaign.
“Ben has tremendous energy to his game, can play as a real ball player in midfield and is also very adaptable and can play in a number of other positions. He is a great signing for us.”
Cheltenham finished in 17th position in the League Two table last season.
