Sol Bamba signs on for three more years at Cardiff

Cardiff City’s experienced centre-back Sol Bamba has put pen to paper on a new three-year contract with the Championship table-toppers.

have announced today that experienced centre-half has committed himself to the club for the next three years, continuing a stay that started just last October.

The Ivorian has played a key part in the stunning start to the season and has received his just rewards following 30 league appearances and two goals since he signed for the club.

Bamba’s contract extension caps a tremendous turnaround for the player since his public bust-up with manager Neil last December. The Cardiff boss tried to restrain Bamba after the defender reacted angrily to his sending off against , only for the two to end up squaring off themselves.

All water under the bridge now, however, and Warnock is pleased to have the centre-back on board for the next few years.

“We’re delighted that Sol has signed because he’s like a young at the moment,” he told Cardiff’s iFollow.

“It’s nice to tie him down rather than lose him at Christmas, and it’s only right we can give him that bit of security because he’s so committed to the club.

“Usually I would say a three-year deal might be too long for a guy who’s nearly 33. But Sol has great pace and he’s an inspiration to the other guys.”
