Nottingham Forest transfer embargo to be lifted accoring to Fawaz Al Hasawi

owner has said that the club will soon be free from a transfer embargo.

The owner announced on Twitter: “Good – the League has confirmed the transfer embargo will be lifted.”

were placed under embargo in December 2014 for breaching Financial Fair Play rules for the 2013-14 season.

A statement at the time from the read “Nottingham Forest have failed to meet the fair play requirement under the division’s FFP rules. Consequently, they will be subject to an ‘FFP embargo’ under Football League regulations from January 1, 2015 for the remainder of the current campaign.”

The clubs failure to meet the expectations of the financial fair play rule meant that the Championship side have been unable to pay transfer fees in each of the last three transfer windows.

If Forest’s transfer embargo is lifted it could signal a spending spree over the summer as the club look to recover from a disappointing season this year.
