NEXT weekend, the National League season will come to an end with either York or Rochdale condemned to the play-offs.
That, frankly, is a disgrace. Both sides have won more than 100 points. Both have performed almost flawlessly for ten solid months. Both should be guaranteed a place in League Two next season.
But they aren’t, and we all know why. EFL clubs govern themselves, and season after season turn a deaf ear to the National League’s pleas for a third promotion place.
