From prolific goalscorers to midfielders dictating the tempo of games, several players have played pivotal roles in shaping the promotion race and the battle for survival.

Here, Holly Wright picks out five of the Championship’s most influential players this season, based not only on statistics but also on their impact on their respective teams.

5. Gustavo Hamer – Sheffield United

Versatility, creativity, and relentless work rate have made Gustavo Hamer one of the standout midfielders in the Championship this season.

His goals have been crucial in the Swans’ attacking output throughout the campaign.

Vipotnik has developed into one of the most complete forwards in the division.
