Tonda Eckert refused to throw his name into the hat for the permanent manager’s role at Southampton after the Saints’ interim boss oversaw a thrashing of Charlton Athletic at The Valley.
The Saints scored all the goals in the first half as they made it three straight wins for German Eckert since he stepped up from Under-21 duty after Will Still’s sacking at the start of this month.
