Match Preview: Mansfield Town v Milton Keynes Dons (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Town are on a fantastic run ahead of hosting at the One Call Stadium on Tuesday, with 15 points collected from their last six games.

The have picked up five wins and one loss in their last six League Two games, and face a side whose last six games have brought three wins and one draw.

Mansfield are top of the table after 34 games, of which they have won 18 and drawn 12, earning 66 points.

Milton Keynes are four places behind Town in fifth, with 17 wins and seven draws putting them on 58 points.

With 68 goals in 34 games so far this season, the Stags are the league’s second-highest scorers with 2.0 goals per game. And they are conceding fewer than average, letting in 29 goals at a rate of 0.9 per game.

Dons are also above average scorers, with 1.6 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.5. They have conceded 1.3 goals per game.

In Christy Pym, the home team can rely on one of the league’s safest pair of hands. He has kept 13 clean sheets in his 34 appearances this season, and no ‘keeper has prevented the opposition scoring more often in League Two.

In the Dons’ net, Craig MacGillivray has six clean sheets in 24 games. He has conceded a goal every 83 minutes, 40% more often than the 113 minutes between goals for Pym.

Mansfield’s last match was on Saturday, a 1-0 win against , with George Maris getting the goal for the Stags.

Milton Keynes lost 1-0 against last time out, also on Saturday.

Tuesday’s match will be refereed by Lee Swabey, who has taken charge of eight League Two games so far this season, issuing two red cards and booking 25 players. He has awarded one penalty.

The last Mansfield game Swabey refereed was a 2-1 away loss to Town on November 25. He is yet to oversee a match featuring Milton Keynes this season.
