Match Preview: Bradford City v Notts County (Saturday, 3pm)

Notts County face a challenge to maintain their high-scoring form away against a tight Bradford City defence on Saturday.

With 69 goals in 34 games, County are the top scorers in League Two ahead of the 3pm kick-off at the University of Bradford Stadium.

They face a Bantams side who have scored 41 in 33 matches, but conceded only 39 goals, putting them joint-third among the league’s tightest defences – only Mansfield Town and Stockport County have conceded fewer goals.

In Macaulay Langstaff, County have the league’s sharpest shooter so far this season. He has notched 23 goals in 34 appearances.

His goal rate of one every 129 minutes is quicker than that of Andy Cook, Bradford’s top scorer with a goal every 195 minutes, and a total of 13 goals in 30 games.

City are in reasonable form in League Two, with three wins and two draws from their last six games.

With a win and five losses over that period, the away side’s form is much worse – they have taken three points from 18, compared to the Bantams’ 11.

The hosts are 16th in the table after 33 games, of which they have won 12 and drawn 10, earning 46 points.

County are two places ahead of Bradford in 14th, with 14 wins and five draws putting them on 47 points.

Bradford’s last match was on February 17, a 1-0 win against Sutton United, with Calum Kavanagh getting the goal for the Bantams.

County lost 4-3 against Sutton United last time out, on Tuesday, with Daniel Crowley (two) and Langstaff on the scoresheet.
