Match Preview: Forest Green Rovers v Wrexham (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Struggling Green face at the Bolt New Lawn on Tuesday looking to build on a win in their last league outing.

After securing all three points with a 1-0 victory over on Saturday, the Green sit 23rd in .

They travel to play a Wrexham side fourth in the standings, who lost in their last match, 1-0 against .

With 33 goals in 33 games so far this season, are the league’s second-lowest scorers with 1.0 goals per game. And they are conceding more than average, letting in 60 goals at a rate of 1.8 per game.

Wrexham, meanwhile, are above average scorers, with 1.8 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.5. They have conceded 1.3 goals per game.

In the last 10 years, Forest Green and Wrexham have played each other on seven occasions. Forest Green won one of them, Wrexham two, and they drew four times.

On average, the Green scored 1.0 goal and the Dragons 1.0 in those matches.

Their last meeting was on March 18 2017, when Forest Green won 3-0 at home.

In Elliott Lee, the visitors have one of the league’s most on-form strikers so far this season. He has notched 14 goals in 33 appearances, to sit ninth in the scoring charts.

His goal rate of one every 200 minutes is slightly quicker than that of Mathew Stevens, the Green’s top scorer with a goal every 180 minutes, and a total of nine goals in 27 games.

Tuesday’s match will be refereed by Will Finnie, who has taken charge of nine League Two games so far this season, issuing three red cards and booking 29 players. He has not awarded any penalties.

The last Wrexham game Finnie refereed was the 2-0 win at home against Gillingham on November 11. He is yet to oversee a match featuring Forest Green this season.
