Match Preview: Oxford United v Leyton Orient (Saturday, 3pm)

Oxford United face Leyton Orient on Saturday seeking to protect their long unbeaten run in League One.

The Us are unbeaten in six, with one win and five draws, ahead of the 3pm kick-off.

They face an Orient team who have won three and drawn one over the same number of games.

With 56 goals in 34 games so far this season, Oxford are scoring more than average in the league with 1.6 goals per game. And they are conceding fewer than average, letting in 42 goals at a rate of 1.2 per game.

Orient, meanwhile, are below average scorers, with 1.2 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.3. They have also conceded 1.2 goals per game.

United are fifth in the table after 34 games, of which they have won 16 and drawn nine, earning 57 points.

The away team are five places behind the Us in 10th, with 13 wins and nine draws putting them on 48 points.

Over the last two years, Oxford and Orient have played each other twice. Oxford won both of them.

Their last meeting was on November 11, when Oxford won 3-2 away.

Oxford’s last match was on Tuesday, a 2-2 draw against Northampton Town, with Josh Murphy getting the goals for the Us.

Orient lost 2-1 against Burton Albion last time out, on February 17, with George Moncur on the scoresheet.
