BARROW BOYS ARE ON THE CHARGE

BARROW took advantage of their promotion rivals’ slip-ups by beating Walsall to climb to third place.
The on-song Bluebirds made it five league wins in a row with a solid 2-0 victory. Ben Whitfield lashed home the opener on 11 minutes before Niall Canavan wrapped things up with 20 minutes to go with a close-range effort.
The top four heading into the midweek programme all drew. Leaders Stockport were held to a goalless draw at home by Salford, while Wrexham squandered a two-goal lead at Harrogate.
