MIDDLESBROUGH have endured an awful start to the Championship season, but you have to consider who they’ve lost.
Chuba Akpom, Cameron Archer, Ryan Giles, Aaron Ramsey. All of them – whether permanent signings or loanees - left the club during the summer.
Trying to replace that kind of quality is practically impossible. Akpom scored 28 times in the Championship last season. Archer got 11 in half a season.
Trying to replace goals with goals is the hardest thing to do in football, and at the moment they haven’t managed to do it.
