Clarke has the ‘hunger’ to lift Pools…

Manager Keith Curle reckons veteran striker Leon Clarke can play a big part in keeping Hartlepool United in the Football League.
The much-travelled 38-year-old brings a wealth of experience to Pools having represented the likes of Wolves, Sheffield Wednesday, Coventry and Sheffield United.
Clarke has played more than 500 games in his career and notched 154 goals.
He netted twice for Bristol Rovers last season in 11 appearances and will hope to help Hartlepool pull clear of the League Two drop zone.
He has joined on a deal until the end of the campaign.
