Grimsby Town captain Luke Waterfall reckons an “unbelievable” travelling army of 4,000 fans and their inflatable haddocks can help the team scale new heights as they look to upset the biggest fish yet during an impressive FA Cup run.
Waterfall is predicting that the Mariners’ noisy faithful will drown out supporters of Premier League strugglers Southampton as they make the 500-mile midweek trek from north east Lincolnshire to the south coast for Wednesday night’s fifth round tie.
