DEFENCE IS VITAL FOR US – SWIFT

JOHN Swift has stressed the importance of “defending as a team” if Reading are to pull away from trouble towards the foot of the table.
The Royals have struggled for clean sheets, but have not struggled to score goals with 26-yearold midfielder Swift reaching double figures for the season.
Swift knows new boss Paul Ince will be working hard to strike a winning balance, and said: “He’s big on defensive shape, so I think we’ll be focusing on that a bit.
“Hopefully we can stop conceding late goals or goals that will kill us in game...
