ROTHERHAM boss Paul Warne, right, said it would take “lunacy” money for the club to cash in on striker Michael Smith this month.
Even that should be resisted. With his contract expiring in June, the most anybody would offer for Smith now would be around £2m. A figure of around £1m is more realistic because, at 30, he has no sell-on value.
Yet promotion to the Championship is worth £6.5m in solidarity, commercial and broadcast payments alone.
