JAHMARI Clarke’s brace for Reading at Birmingham sent “a message to everyone in the academy coming through” about first-team chances at the club, according to assistant boss Marko Mitrovic.
Striker Clarke, who turned 18 last month, was given 45 minutes to impress at St Andrew’s and took his chance, turning the game for the Royals as they came from 1-0 down to win 2-1.
“Sometimes life doesn’t tell you when you will get your opportunity, so you have to be ready for it whenever it comes,” said Mitrovic.
