PATRICK’S CHANCE AT POOLS

HARTLEPOOL manager Dave Challinor has described new signing Patrick Boyes as a “good, hardworking keeper”.
Boyes, 19, joined the club this week having recently been involved in the Grimsby youth setup, and has had stints at Hull and Huddersfield.
Challinor said: “We are delighted to get Patrick in. We tried last Friday but due to deadlines, things didn’t work out.
“He has been with us for a few weeks now. He has a good team around him and has a great opportunity to learn with Ben (Killip), Jonno (Jonathan Mitchell) and Dimi (Konstantopoulos).”
