Chile summer turns Big Ben into hot stuff

THERE were a few sniggers when Ben Brereton was called up by Chile for the Copa America this summer – but he’s certainly had the last laugh.
In many ways, it was understandable that fans of his own club Blackburn Rovers and the wider football-supporting public questioned what he would bring to the party.
Although the Stoke-born 22-year-old had made a £7m move to Rovers from Nottingham Forest in early 2019 after an initial loan spell, he had hardly set the world alight at Ewood Park.
