DEENEY: WALSALL MADE ME INTO A STRIKER

BIRMINGHAM’S Troy Deeney revealed that an early training session with Walsall transformed him into a striker.
The 33-year-old said: “I used to play centre midfield because I was energetic, I used to just run around chasing old men.
“(I was playing for) Chelmsley Town, a local team to me, it was like Midland Combination (Division) Two, so it’s like 15 (levels) below the Prem, and we were young kids having a good time.”
The former Watford man was then approached by Football League side Walsall.
