PRESTON will not rush striker Tom Barkhuizen back into action following his Covid battle.

The 28-year-old was one of a number of North End players to catch coronavirus, but due to him suffering from asthma it is taking him longer than the likes of Ched Evans and Liam Lindsay to return to action.
Boss Frankie McAvoy said: “I can’t put a timescale on it at the moment. When you have asthma it can affect you more, so we can’t take any risks.”
On Evans and Lindsay, McAvoy added: “They are back in with us now on their phased return.”
