EFL chief hails returning supporters

EFL chief executive Trevor Birch saluted the ‘patience and commitment’ of supporters following last weekend’s bumper opening attendances.
The 2021-22 Sky Bet EFL season kicked-off with over 382,000 fans passing through the turnstiles of clubs across the three divisions, following the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions.
Some 134,000 of those attended games in League One, a divisional high over the past six years.
