COUNTY RELIEVED AT PITCH SWITCH SUCCESS

NEWPORT County chairman Gavin Foxall has thanked the “football community” for green lighting the Exiles’ temporary switch to Cardiff.
The League Two side share their Rodney Parade ground with rugby union sides Dragons and Newport RFC, and Exiles manager Mike Flynn, whose side have won just once at home since December 5, recently described the pitch as the worst he’d ever seen.
Newport then successfully applied to the EFL for dispensation to play at Cardiff City Stadium whilst the surface recovers, meaning upcoming games against Bradford and Leyt...
