MOWATT KEY FOR TYKES, INSISTS ISMAEL

BARNSLEY boss Valerien Ismael has stressed the importance of keeping hold of Alex Mowatt during the January transfer window, revealing the club have already turned down a bid for their captain.
Mowatt’s contract expires at the end of the season, meaning he could depart Oakwell for free in the summer.
Cardiff and Middlesbrough are among the clubs reported to be interested in the 25-year-old midfielder, but Ismael insists the benefit of having Mowatt at the club outstrips the value of any potential fee the Tykes could demand for his signature.
