Rescue act should have been swifter
THE date of the joint EFL and Premier League statement announcing that a rescue package had been agreed told a story in itself: December 3 2020.

Should it have taken until the final month of this bizarre year for the two parties to come to an agreement to protect the very existence of the Football League’s 72 clubs? Of course it shouldn’t.
