Molesley: Shrimpers will learn from loss

MARK Molesley felt his winless Southend United side were taught a valuable lesson in their defeat to Morecambe. United took the lead after just five minutes through Liam Gibson’s owngoal, but the visitors fought back to win thanks to goals Aaron Wildig and Adam Phillips.
And that left the Southend boss cutting a frustrated figure at the final whistle.
“We’re gutted and we’re disappointed,” said Molesley, whose side sit bottom of the table.
“You can see how much it’s hurting in there, but some valuable lessons have been learnt.
