DEFENDER Ben Purrington has insisted that Charlton won’t take Doncaster lightly after avoiding big guns Portsmouth and Sunderland in the League One play-offs.
The Addicks thrashed Rochdale 4-0 at The Valley on the final day of the regular season to pinch third place from under the noses of Pompey, who drew 1-1 against Accrington Stanley, and the Black Cats, who lost 2-1 at Southend. It meant that Portsmouth and Sunderland were thrown together in the semi-finals, ruling out the prospect of a Checkatrade Trophy final repeat at Wembley.
