BIRMINGHAM City boss Garry Monk is convinced Maikel Kieftenbeld has the mental fortitude to make as swift a recovery as possible from his knee injury.
Midfielder Kieftenbeld ruptured the cruciate ligament in his right knee in the victory over Leeds United earlier this month and initial estimates indicated he could be out for up to nine months.
Having undergone successful surgery on the joint 6, Monk is keen to focus on the next stage of recovery and is reluctant to offer any update on the original timescale.
