Bojan Jokic joins Nottingham Forest on loan from Villarreal

Nottingham Forest have brought in left-back Bojan Jokic on loan from Villarreal until the rest of the season.

The 29-year-old has accumulated over 70 international caps for Slovenia and has played for Villarreal seven times this season.

Manager Dougie Freedman said: “His quality on the ball will help the squad. He brings a desire to do well.

“I want players who want to come here. Gary expressed a real strong interest.”

Freedman added: “He said no to a few other clubs. I think Leeds were interested but he knocked them back to come to a club where he is loved and wanted.”

Reports also suggest that Forest have brought in Aston Villa midfielder Gary Gardener on a season long loan deal.

BBC Nottingham reported that the 23-year-old is on the verge of signing a deal at the City Ground and may even be in contention to play in Saturday’s FA Cup game against QPR.
