ONCE the Premier League agreed to close their transfer window early, it always made sense for the EFL to follow suit.
It won’t prevent the kind of deadline-day stand-offs that managers hate, but it will allow them to concentrate on coaching in those crucial early weeks of the season.
By far the most sensible decision, however, was the idea of keeping a loan window until the end of August.
