York City have signed striker Lewis Alessandra on a one-month loan deal from League One side Rochdale.
Alessandra has found the net once in 11 appearances for Rochdale so far this season after joining from Plymouth Argyle last summer.
The 27-year-old began his career at Oldham and went to have spell with Morecambe before his move to Home Park.
Alessandra found his best form with Plymouth, scoring 25 goals over two seasons. He was offered a new deal with the Pilgrims at the end of last season but opted to link up with Keith Hill at Rochdale.
York are currently embroiled in a fight to stay in League Two, losing to rivals Dagenham & Redbridge last weekend, to see them stay 23rd in the relegation zone, five points adrift of safety.
The Minstermen play Barnet at home on Saturday where Alessandra is set to make his debut.
