Vale potential excites ex-Walsall boss

DARRELL Clarke says he can understand Walsall’s anger at his departure for League Two rivals Port Vale, but insists it was the ‘right time’ to move on.
The former Bristol Rovers boss was in his second season in the Saddlers’ hotseat and left them in 11th place in the table.
His exit for Vale, 19th pre-weekend, will have taken many by surprise, while Walsall chairman Leigh Pomlett was quoted as being ‘disappointed and somewhat angry’ that Clarke decided to walk away.
